Walk Where Battles Were Fought & Heroes Were Forged!

Here settlers struggled against the harsh back country to survive, Cherokee Indians hunted and fought to keep their land, two towns and a trading post were formed and abandoned to the elements, and two Revolutionary War battles that claimed over 100 lives took place here.

Each year in April, hundreds of visitors and residents take part in a celebration of living history. This unique program features an authentic encampment of interpreters who portray soldiers and women of the middle 1700’s and demonstrate such activities as 18th century medicine and surgery, writing techniques, trading with Indians, court martial, dill and firing, campfire cooking and more. Get ready to step back in time before the days of the American Revolution. Free of charge.
